My favorite back to school memory was the fall of 2020, when I met my students in person for the first time after teaching them on Zoom 🥹

It was so sweet to give them hugs and hear the classroom full of laughter and love (& so much chaos, if we’re being honest) after such a long time being apart

So sweet! I can't imagine trying to teach K on zoom. WILD.

My favorite association was getting crisp new supplies: notebooks, paper, folders, art supplies. It always felt like a crisp fresh start that matched the crispness of fall (or at least the approaching fall, since August is still very much summer in Charlotte).

Yes, indeed. Still summer :( I remember dressing up in my back-to-school clothes (corduroy, wool, etc) and just absolutely sweating for the first month...even in Massachusetts! haha

And then Ticonderoga came out in multiple colors… and I won’t even buy the originals any more 😁 Ticonderoga pencils in blue, pink, and green…the absolute best bouquet possible.

Hahaha! I am still loyal to the classic yellow ones. I don't know why -- they just say "SCHOOL" to me.

Yes, they do, and that association is probably also why I love the colors (even though this is a school post). 😜 Left brain off. Right brain on. Silly Kelly, pencils are for drawing!
